Tribute To Edward Hopper Revisited

I posted this video I made a couple of years ago on February 12 of this year on my fledgling Substack account. It got no views, so I’m posting it again. Edward Hopper, one of the most important American painters of the twentieth century is now long forgotten. However, what he had to say about American life through his extraordinary works of art is as poignant today as it was in the struggling mid-twentieth century.

In this video I chose several of Hopper’s most celebrated paintings and manually doctored them to give them relevance in our present day. I’m sure that Ed wouldn’t mind at all. He’s most likely laughing in his grave. Can you find fault in how I contemporized what is arguably his most important painting, “Nighthawks?”
